Dalim Software hosts record-breaking European user conference

Barcelona – Dalim Softwar has just hosted its biggest European user conference yet with 130 users and distributors from nine European countries attending the event in Barcelona.

The whole spectrum of the graphic arts industry were represented, including magazine and newspaper publishers, prepress, commercial and packaging printers, and large format display specialists. Delegates included production managers from UK firms: EMAP, ICON Reproductions, Keenes, Rival Colour; Prinovis, Myler & Mueller, CompuMedia, Quelle and Ellerhold from Germany; Hachette (France & Spain); Edipro, MPO, and Interdeco (France); and IKEA (Sweden). Although primarily a European event, this year’s conference also attracted its first South American user: Graphicos Burti from Brazil!

The 2-day EuroDUO (European Dalim Software User Organisation) event combined user presentations and product development updates, with technical workshops and demonstrations by leading and complementary third-party vendors. Quark provided a detailed analysis of Quark v7, while latest developments in JDF, colour standards and XML-driven production were additional hot topics.

The major theme of this year’s event was the impressive automation, flexibility and productivity of Dalim Software workflow, management and soft proofing systems driving a wide range of quality-critical applications in the field. These ranged from large format display, deadline driven publishing, and networked document management to the streamlined production of 50 editions of 170 million IKEA catalogues.

“Every year EuoDUO exceeds our expectations by attracting the best production brains in the business to network and exchange ideas,” says Carol Werle, CEO, Dalim Software. “The event plays an important part in fine tuning our product development paths.”
