Edipro introduces range of application services for the benefit of its ever expanding customer base
Kehl (Germany) and Paris (France) - Edipro now provides its customers with a range of application services (ASP) thanks to DALiM PRiNTEMPO. Dalim Software has installed a brand new, innovative workflow system, which allows Edipro and its customers to use a common web browser to check the status of workflow production and start the production of plates or proofs.
Edipro is one of the four largest publishing platforms in France. The company specialises in the outsourcing of procurement services for the publishing sector. It carries out various activities for the press sector, which accounts for half of its turnover, as well as for corporate accounts. Edipro manages a large database of print suppliers featuring all types of processes, and machines complete with their technical specifications and suitability to the different products (sizes, colours, finishing, etc.).
“We serve as a catalyst, a formatting platform and a professional interface with the graphics world,” explains Jacques Lopes, CEO of Edipro.
Mr Lopes goes on to explain the new services on offer. “We have remote set ups for the magazine production. In other words, we have developed a digital platform based on DALiM PRiNTEMPO and, thanks to the system’s powerful connectivity, customers have online access to all of the tools necessary to the magazine production deadline schedules on Edipro’s digital platform.
“Edipro manages the system’s operation allowing customers to create and track the development of their magazines as far as the proof stage,” continues Mr Lopes. This method of operation means that the customer does not have to send out all of the various elements and can monitor the process internally, without having to invest in the basic software, management and maintenance all taken care of by Edipro.
“This segment of our operations is expanding rapidly and we are constantly increasing our customer base as a result of the flexibility and savings enjoyed by our customers. DALiM PRiNTEMPO has opened up new functional and business opportunities,” adds Mr Lopes. Edipro itself also applies the concept of web connectivity, as its Belgian subsidiary, Edipro Benelux, has remote access to the same software as that installed in Paris, as if it were located on the same premises. Edipro also has installations at some of its customers' sites, including Hachette.
When purchasing DALiM PRiNTEMPO, Edipro wanted to have all of the tools that allow dialogue between the customer and the graphic arts world. “We wanted innovative tools that would offer an interactive, 100% secure turnkey solution capable of handling a growing volume of business.”
The advantages of Edipro's innovative approach in terms of real-time interaction and time saved on security and certification have now materialised both for customers and producers. “Customers can closely monitor the progress of their work,” explains Mr Lopes. “We are part of an extremely buoyant market and our turnover is rising by 40% each year. DALiM PRiNTEMPO helps us manage our constantly increasing volume. Thanks to DALiM PRiNTEMPO we are able to create a production workflow customised to every producer's needs, providing them with their own workflow to suit their internal and external (printers) specifications. In addition, because customers have control over the process they feel more reassured,” concludes Mr Lopes.
O2i, a prepress and computer system integrator and a partner of the Folio Group, reconfigured DALiM PRiNTEMPO into an efficient, responsive system tailored to suit the needs of Edipro and its customers.
