DALiM LiTHO is open on all sides and in all directions. PostScript data, all known image formats (including Scitex, Hell and Crosfield) and PDF documents can be imported. In fact, DALiM LiTHO can be seen as the industry’s most fully-featured PDF editor. The DALiM PostScript Interpreter can be used to clean up any PostScript data, as this often leads to errors in the subsequent production process (e.g.-during imaging). Imported PostScript data is kept together as a unit and is fully editable on the generated DALiM page. Text can also be processed, as can gradients, colours and images. Original data names for images stay as they are. Even if an image is inserted a number of times into the data supplied, it is stored just once on the hard disk after being imported.

reliable output

All DALiM LiTHO pages can be printed and exposed as usual on PostScript output devices. A range of output formats is available for exporting data – image output can be in EPS Photoshop, TIFF, DCS1 or 2, PDF, PDF/X, Hell, Crosfield or Scitex format. Formats processed specially in rotogravure - such as TIFF/IT, TIFF-IT/P1 or AIF, are standard in DALiM LiTHO.

Before PostScript output, all image data is optimised for the output device concerned. For example scaled images can be uniformly resolved to 300-dpi in order to remove the triggered RIP interpolation calculations. This gives a noticeable increase in output speed for imaging film, plates or direct to paper.
